Author: rules are rules unless you do it on purpose

“rules are rules unless you do it on purpose. Be prepared to be mistreated at the Daytona Beach Kennel club and poker room if you play tournaments. Allow me to explain. They have a rule that if you expose your cards before the action is complete, you have to incur a penalty. Well, I mucked my cards and one of them hit the felt and flipped up. I was given a penalty of sitting out for a round of blinds and antes and lost 2000 of my chips in the process. The problem was that when other players exposed their cards ON PURPOSE, THEY WERE NOT GIVEN THE PENALTY. 3 times at my table cards were exposed on purpose. 2 times the dealers never called the floor. One time (WHILE I WAS STILL STANDING FOR MY PENALTY), the director comes over and gives another player a break. I say to him really? you give him a break right in front of me taking a penalty for the same thing. He says to me, "hey that was different." I said "Yeah your right, he did his on purpose and got no penalty, I flipped mine on accident and lost 2000 in chips." So there you have it, If you want to play at a place that mistreats players go ahead. It's mind boggling to me that I incurred a penalty for an accident when people who did it on purpose were never even so much as warned about it. ”
