Tribal group wants casino at Great Lakes Downs

Bets may once again be placed at the now-closed horse track in Muskegon County.

Fruitport Township Supervisor Ronald Cooper confirmed to 24 Hour News 8 that the Little River Band of the Ottawa Indians plans to open a casino at Great Lakes Downs. Cooper said he learned of the plan from unnamed Muskegon County officials.

It's the third casino proposed for the Muskegon area this year. The other two proposals are on the waterfront.
