The Kalispel Indian tribe broke ground today on an expansion to its Northern Quest Casino.
The tribe hopes the 275 million dollar expansion will turn the casino into a destination resort. Expansion plans include a 350-room hotel, a larger casino, a 23-hundred seat event hall and a large spa and pool. Construction will begin immediately with the hopes of opening the addition in 2010.
The project is being built on 40 acres of land surrounding the casino. The existing casino will become a conference facility and the new casino will have 2,000 slot machines, 50 table games and 15 poker tables.
