Casino workers accused of stealing high-roller list
Press of Atlantic City, Monday, June 16, 2008 at 9:11:27 PM
A senior gaming executive and two other casino workers have been charged with stealing a list of more than 20,000 top players from the Tropicana Casino and Resort. Prosecutors placed the value of the list at more than $108 million because it includes the names, addresses, telephone numbers and personal gambling data on the "rated players." The three were indicted Monday on theft charges and other offenses, according to the New Jersey Attorney General's Office. The alleged theft occurred when the men were working together at Tropicana. They have since moved on to take jobs at other casinos in Atlantic City and Nevada. The alleged ringleader was identified as John Conklin, 47, of Galloway Township, a former Tropicana marketing executive who now works as vice president of relationship marketing at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. Also indicted were James DiMarco, 59, of Ocean City, and Justin Litterelle, 26, of Las Vegas. DiMarco and Litterelle worked under Conklin at Tropicana, authorities said.
