'What happens with casino should stay in county'

The debate over gambling in Jackson County took a new turn Wednesday as two supervisors told business owners in Harrison and Hancock counties to back off.
"We're perfectly capable of making our own decisions and running our own county without them telling us how to do it," supervisor John McKay said in a telephone interview.
"People need to make up their mind whether a casino is of value to taxpayers and not let any organization with self-serving interests from outside the county guide how citizens in Jackson County should vote," supervisor Tim Broussard added.
