AC's temporary casino smoking ban now in effect

Gamblers aren't allowed to smoke at the slots or tables for the first time in the 30-year history of legalized gambling in Atlantic City.
It's only due to last 12 days, but a temporary smoking ban took effect Wednesday morning in the city's 11 casinos.
The City Council didn't move fast enough to pass an ordinance delaying the ban from taking effect for a year. The ban may end on Oct. 27.
