Baltimore's 'Celebration Casino' to create 900 jobs, $430M in tax revenue

The development team behind the city's slots parlor is planning to open a $164 million casino that would employ more than 900 people full-time in 2011.
Baltimore City Entertainment Group told a state panel Wednesday it expects to open a 250,000-square-foot casino with 3,750 slots named "Celebration Casino" on Russell Street south of M&T Bank Stadium in the middle of 2011.
The casino would employ 926 people full time with average wages of $41,000 plus benefits. It also would create 2,000 construction jobs over 16 to 18 months in 2010 and 2011, developers said Wednesday.
