Big vote on KCK casino looms

A state board weighing a proposal to build a casino in Kansas City, Kan. could vote to accept or reject the project as early as today.
The state's Gaming Facilities Review Board is meeting with the developers hoping to build the $700 million casino overlooking the Kansas Speedway. The board had expected to make a final decision Wednesday, but Chairman Matt All said a vote today is possible.
The Hollywood Casino would be built on Turn 2 of the speedway and, if approved this week, could open in January 2012.
