Boot Hill casino one step closer

The Dodge City Commission unanimously approved the rezoning of a lot of land for a casino and a special use permit for Butler National Corp. on Monday, defying the recommendation of the Dodge City Zoning Board to deny the special use permit.
The city commission chambers were packed with members of Boot Hill Gaming supporters, who had arrived to show their support for the special use permit.
The special use permit was granted on two conditions: Butler National must be selected by the Kansas Lottery Commission, and the potential developer must present a detailed outline of how it will provide infrastructure for the casino.
