Chamber study finds significant upside to casino proposal

Boston, Massachusetts--A report funded by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce found that Gov. Deval Patrick's proposal to build three resort casinos in Massachusetts could be an economic boon for the state.
The study, conducted by UHY Advisors FLVS, Inc., estimated three casinos would generate $2 billion to $2.3 billion in annual gross gaming revenues. The study found that by 2012 the plan could net $376 million to $429 million in new state revenue.
The study also estimated that the proposal would create 10,000-11,500 construction jobs over a three-year period as well as 17,000-21,000 permanent jobs.
