Four casino applications made

Four Iowa communities are placing bets with state gambling regulators that new casinos will create additional jobs and provide them with a badly needed economic boost.
Kehl Management, which proposes a $110 million golf and resort complex on the Iowa-South Dakota state line, filed the first application for a casino license on Monday, which was the state's deadline for accepting license requests.
Casino license applications were also filed Monday afternoon by developers proposing casinos in Ottumwa, Fort Dodge and Tama County. Each of the businesses is supported by a nonprofit community partner.
