MGM Mirage hiring 12,000 workers for CityCenter

Casino operator MGM Mirage Inc. is getting ready to hire 12,000 workers for its massive CityCenter project on the Las Vegas Strip, and plans to launch an application Web site Jan. 5.

The $9.2 billion complex includes six high rises with a casino, luxury hotels, condominiums and retail. It is scheduled to open late next year.

Bill McBeath, president of Aria, the primary casino-hotel on the property, says the company plans to fill roughly half the spots with current employees from other MGM Mirage properties or others who have recently been laid off.
