Macon DA deems bingo machines legal

After inspecting electronic bingo machines in Quincy's 777 Casino at VictoryLand, Fifth Circuit District Attorney E. Paul Jones determined that machines Gov. Bob Riley is attempting to remove are legal.
Riley's Anti-Gambling Task Force was turned away January 29 in an attempt to raid VictoryLand and confiscate machines and cash. A temporary restraining order signed by Circuit Judge Tom Young halted the attempted raid because the Task Force didn't have a search warrant.
That same day, the Task Force was also stopped from raiding Country Crossing in Houston County when the facility chained its doors. The Task Force didn't have a search warrant for the intended raid at Country Crossing.
