The hotel at the Tri-State Racetrack & Gaming Center is a promise that was part of the vote for 2007 table games in Kanawha County. Now, it looks like the owners of the casino will keep that promise when they break ground for the new hotel next Wednesday.
The four-floor facility boasts 150 rooms and amenities such as 24-hour room service, a pool, and jacuzzis. Siling Associates of Charleston are handling the design aspects of the hotel while Agsten Construction will build it.
The track has until 2010 to complete the project or face a $2.5 million annual penalty due to stipulations in table games legislation. More details on the plans for the hotel will be revealed at the groundbreaking ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
