The Redding Rancheria tribe is proposing a $90 million expansion of its Win-River casino to compete with a rival casino and boost its gambling revenue.
The plan unveiled Wednesday would add an eight-story, 175-room hotel, a five-story parking garage, a 2,000-seat event center and restaurants, while doubling the number of gambling machines to 2,000.
The tribe faces competition from the Rolling Hills Casino in Corning, which has expanded since it opened west of Interstate 5 in July 2002. Rolling Hills features two hotels, several restaurants and a conference center and is scheduled to open an 18-hole golf course this summer.
