Senate panel sends table games bill to floor

Beating down a revived bid to let all West Virginians decide its fate with a constitutional ballot, but agreeing to a 1 percent jump in the state’s take in the profits, a pivotal Senate panel Thursday approved a casino-style gambling measure.
That means the full Senate could vote Tuesday on whether to let voters in the dog- and horse-track counties of Jefferson, Ohio, Hancock and Kanawha rule on roulette wheels, craps and blackjack.
