Senecas to expand temporary Buffalo casino

The temporary Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino on Michigan Avenue in downtown Buffalo is about to get bigger.
The Seneca Gaming Corp. plans to increase the size of the temporary facility in downtown Buffalo this spring, making room for another 109 slot machines, bringing the total slot count to 244. Plans for the $3.2 million expansion, which will boost the temporary gambling complex from 6,000 square feet to nearly 10,000 square feet.
Seneca Gaming is finalizing blueprints for a $333 million permanent gaming/hotel complex slated to open in 2010 but its plans are being challenged in court. Seneca Gaming revealed plans for the interim expansion of its six-month-old Buffalo facility in its annual report filed today with the federal Securities and Exchange Commission.
