Tiguas take steps toward New Mexico casino

El Paso's Tigua tribe has taken initial steps to put a casino on 10 acres of ranch land near Chaparral, N.M.
The tribe would prefer to re-open its Ysleta reservation casino, which the state of Texas shut down in 2002, but "we wouldn't mind opening in New Mexico either," said Tigua Lt. Gov. Carlos Hisa. "We're trying to keep every door open to bring gaming back to the tribe."
