Tribal partnership withdraws KCK casino proposal

Kansas City Star,  Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 10:45:25 AM

In a surprise move Wednesday, the Kickapoo-Sac and Fox tribal partnership withdrew its proposal to build a $441 million casino in Kansas City, Kan.

Attorney Ryan Denk, who represents the partnership, told Wyandotte County’s Unified Board of Commissioners that KS&F would no longer pursue its effort for a casino at 118th Street and State Avenue.

After the meeting, Denk told The Star that his clients’ proposal was facing stiff competition from the three other Kansas City, Kan., proposals, each of which had submitted developments valued at more than $600 million. The commission is scheduled to decide at a 5 p.m. meeting today how many of the three remaining proposals to endorse for the state’s consideration. the source
