Casino group to try again

A group of investors is poised to try once again to bring a casino to Fort Dodge if more gaming licenses are issued by state regulators.

"We still believe it’s something the people of Webster County want and we’re prepared to try to bring it here," said Steve Daniel, a Fort Dodge businessman who’s part of the investors group.

If a license is someday awarded for a local casino, that group will likely find itself working with a new management firm. Iowa-based Kehl Management, which had a 50 percent stake in the investment group and would have managed the casino, is no longer part of the venture, according to Daniel. He said the group would seek proposals from management firms if a license is awarded.
