Some Ohioans against proposed casino

Columbus, Ohio--Some Ohio voters are prepared to place their bets, but others don't even want to play a hand. A proposed Ohio Casino Bill has sparked great debate throughout Ohio, but voters will have the final say.

The proposed casino would cost six million dollars and would bring 5,000 new jobs to Central Ohio's economy generating nearly $200 in tax revenues for Ohio's 88 counties. However, not everyone wants to give a green light to legalized gambling. Issue Six--the proposed constitutional amendment that would clear the way for a new casino near I-71 in Clinton County between Cincinnati and Columbus.

Opponents from the Ohio Roundtable say the promise of new jobs is misleading. David Zanotti says, "For every job it creates, it's not likely to throw another job off, because of people that are taking money that they would normally spend in the general economy--and dump it into casinos."
