MGM to charge for parking on Las Vegas Strip

MGM Resorts International has announced that it will soon begin charging for parking on the Las Vegas Strip
The MGM also announced that it would construct a a $54-million, 3,000-space parking structure near the northwest corner of the Excalibur Hotel campus that will serve to absorb further visitor growth and enhance the experience of attendees of events at nearby resorts and entertainment venues.

MGM Resorts CEO Meets with City Leaders

MGM Resorts International Chairman and CEO Jim Murren and Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno met privately today with their respective teams to discuss the status of the largest economic development in the City's history. Accompanied by MGM Resorts President Bill Hornbuckle and MGM Springfield President Michael Mathis, Murren was at Springfield City Hall at the Mayor's request to discuss next steps in the evolving design and construction of MGM Springfield.
After the meeting, Murren said, "I felt it was important to come to Springfield to discuss our vision and commitment for this project. The complexities of designing and building an urban outward-facing destination resort casino have come to the forefront recently. Putting all the related challenges on the table for the Mayor was paramount."
Murren continued, "The Mayor clearly expressed his concern over the way recent design changes were communicated to the City. We agreed that this is a dynamic process and that MGM will be assertive in keeping the City informed. We know we need to work even harder to maintain the public's trust and I assured him that work has already begun."

Revenues, wagering taxes up in 2015 for Detroit casinos

Revenue for Detroit's three casinos was up in 2015, compared with the previous year, gaming officials announced Tuesday.
Aggregate revenue, which does not account for taxes or inflation, was an average of 3.3 percent higher, according to the Michigan Gaming Control Board.

The Beau Rivage Resort & Casino had a great year in 2015, general manager Marcus Glover said, and MGM Resorts International invested millions to start this new year with three renovated spaces at the casino.
A new chandelier shimmers in the lounge of the remodeled high-limits room.
To the left of that space is a new non-smoking room that got a slot-machine upgrade and new decor. To the right is the new poker room that by far is the largest -- and most colorful -- in South Mississippi.

More payments from casinos in revised Atlantic City aid bill

New Jersey lawmakers are asking for more from Atlantic City's casinos under a tax assistance bill that underwent last-minute changes in the state Legislature.
The state Legislature passed changes to a bill at the heart of an Atlantic City aid package Tuesday, which lets the casinos make payments instead of taxes. The measure is known as the PILOT bill for "payment in lieu of taxes."
